1. Writer's Tip - 5 Tools To Keep Your Writing Clear & Concise

To engage with the largest audience possible, it's important to keep our writing simple and concise. I strive to use the KISS method in all aspects of my life, Keep It Simple Stupid. Writing is no different. Here's 5 tools I use help make my writing quick and to the point:

  1. Hemingway App - The writing app I use most. This tool provides a detailed analysis of your writing, highlighting areas that may be difficult to read or understand, such as long sentences and complex words.

  2. Grammarly - Similar to Hemingway, Grammarly is a grammar checking tool that can help you identify and correct errors in your writing, as well as suggest ways to make your writing more clear and concise. Many in my writing community use this platform.

  3. Cliché Finder - Cliché Finder is a tool that can help you identify and avoid using clichéd or overused phrases in your writing. At the end of the day, we could all use help reducing clichés!

  4. Thesaurus - A thesaurus is a great resource for finding synonyms for common words, which can help you make your writing more varied and interesting. This is another site I use often.

  5. Writing Forward - A newer find for me, Writing Forward is a website that offers a wide range of tips and techniques for improving your writing, including advice on grammar, style, and organization.

These are great tools to help you improve your writing, but it's also important to remember that good writing often comes from practice. Write and hit publish! That's the best way I know to improve.

2. Write3 Opportunity - Find Freelance Work

On Tuesday, I moderated an excellent panel "How To Find Freelance Work". If you missed it, I recommend catching the replay (or check out the podcast version dropping on Friday). Here's 3 tools & platforms that my panel use for finding freelance web3 work.

  • Upwork - Upwork is a platform that connects freelancers with clients who are in need of their services. It has a wide range of writing jobs available, including content writing, copywriting & technical writing.

  • Freelancer - Another platform that connects freelancers with clients. Similar to Upwork

  • Linkedin - Most are familiar with the networking site. It can also be a great place to find freelance work. Many companies and publication post job listings on Linkedin, and you can reach out to people in your network who work in the writing industry.

Quick Tip: One of my panelist, Nikita Verma, shared an excellent resource with the group. The popular newsletter, Milkroad, publishes a list of Web3 VC investments. These companies are now flush with money and are often eager to hire, spend and use freelancers. Check it out here.

3. A Literary NFT Worth Collecting - Purple & Tarragon

I want to bring attention to a very talented artist and writer from Iran, Erfan Mojib, or as we call him on Twitter, The Colonel. Erfan likes to say he "translates words to images & images to words". Living in a place where the ordinary is extraordinary, somewhere behind Mount Qaf, Erfan brings a depth of heart to both his art and text.

His two NFT books are worthy of collecting. You can collect them here & here.
